Director Axel Braun has cast Lexington Steele as Darth Vader in his upcoming big-budget, 3D feature Star Wars XXX: A Porn Parody, to be distributed by Vivid Entertainment.

“The role of Darth Vader is obviously crucial to the movie, and I needed somebody with enough charisma and stature to bring it to life,” Braun said. “Lex is not only a terrific performer and a legendary figure in the adult business, but also an incredibly talented actor, a true professional and a class act.”

The legendary Steele is a three-time AVN Male Performer of the Year—accolades he garnered an unprecedented three times in a row. He owns his own production company, Mercenary Pictures. Steele follows in the footsteps of James Earl Jones who voiced Vader, and David Prowse who played the role in costume.

“Axel was totally determined to get Lex for the Vader role, he never even considered anyone else,” Vivid founder and co-chairman Steven Hirsch said. “We’re all happy that he was available and excited about playing this iconic character.”

AVN Award-winning director Axel Braun announced last week that he has started pre-production on Star Wars XXX: A Porn Parody, to be exclusively distributed by Vivid Entertainment. The ambitious project will mark Vivid’s first foray into the increasingly popular 3D format, and is set for release in September 2011.

“I really want to take my time on this one,” Braun said. “Every detail needs to be exactly right, and I want to make sure the legions of fans of the original movies are not disappointed.”

“Axel definitely knows how to please the fans,” said Steven Hirsch, founder/co-chairman of Vivid. “His attention to detail and his respect for the source material put his parodies in a class by themselves, and we are absolutely thrilled to distribute another one of his outstanding productions.”

With his Batman XXX: A Porn Parody now claiming the top spot in the AVN Retail Buzz chart for the seventh consecutive week, and the upcoming Superman XXX: A Porn Parody shooting in August, Braun is happily celebrating his 20th year in the industry with a slew of high-profile projects that are sure to keep all the fans happily entertained for quite a while.

Interestingly, this news broke the same day as Disneyland’s Star Tours closed. While that is sad, I will take the space in between a young girl’s legs anytime over George Lucas’ space. Heheheheheheeee!!!!
